When I was a kid, we used to watch Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., in the TV series, The FBI. Glued to our sets, we witnessed agents intently working on saving our government from threats by taking down the bad guys. Great show. It made us feel safe having those dedicated agents out there protecting us. I don’t know about the later show that started in 2018 as I haven’t watched it or any other television for a very long time.
A few years later, when were deep into puberty, we used to refer to the FBI as female body inspectors and, of course, all of us boys wanted to join. That went away when we learned that the FBI had something to do with the murder of several black activist leaders. It didn’t seem right.
In fairly recent history, the agency has become known as the Federal Bureau of Instigation. The methods used to parade their triumphs at stopping terrorism were to start a group and incite them to do bad things then arrest them. Do I smell the ugly odor of entrapment?
More recently, they have earned the title of Fumbling Bumbling Idiots. “Why is that,” you ask? Well, here’s the list courtesy of Chris Martensen of Peak Prosperity.
- They lost Seth Rich’s laptop. Horse patooey!
- Lost Epstein evidence. How could you?
- Didn’t raid Epstein’s properties until long after he was dead. Waiting for the cleanup to be finished maybe?
- Didn’t find the J6 bomber despite being handed the evidence on a silver platter. What a fumble!
- Ruined the careers of agents who asked too many questions about the 2020 election. Unconscionable.
- Arrested J6 people with prejudice, never looked into “Patriot Front.” Dropped the ball again and ordinary people suffered.
- Totally wiffed on Ruby Ridge, OKC bombing, 9-11, and every other major event. I have no words left.
I urge you to watch the rest of Martensen’s video which is about the corruption in our country and not just the FBI. I find his analysis to be levelheaded and well informed. The link is here: Chris Martenson on corruption.
I don’t want you to think that all of the FBI is shot or that I want to get rid of them all. There are many dedicated agents who want to do the right thing. Some of them have come forward as whistleblowers to alert us to dicey goings on in the agency, but not enough of us have listened to them and anyone who does is labeled as a “conspiracy theorist” despite the fact that these people put their careers and possibly even their lives on the line to tell what they knew.
That brings me to my last point. I am not one of those nuts who believe in just getting rid of the agency. I believe that to have order, we must have law and to enforce that law, we need an agency dedicated to doing just that. We may need to burn down the FBI and start over. I don’t know what the answer is. I do believe that there are many in the agency who are dedicated to keeping us and our country safe. Perhaps they could be the nucleus of a new agency. Whatever happens, we do need an agency like this because there are just too many drug kingpins, gangs, organized criminals, and the like who need rounding up to face charges. I’m hoping this new director of the FBI will clean things up. We’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully, we won’t get another load of horse manure like we’ve had the last few years.
In the meantime, you might like the poem I wrote back in 1967. It was inspired by my research into J. Edgar Hoover who was director of the BOI and, the precursor of the FBI, for 11 years and helped found the FBI where he served as director for 37 years. You can find it here under my poetry tab: “It the Control.” J. Edgar Hoover had the book on everyone of note and used it to control people.
